Stainless 150 litre insulated tank with evacuated glass tubes retains heat at night
During the daytime, you can use virtually unlimited hot water and use 150 litres of storage at night. Water temperature will reach up to 100 degrees C. When mixed with cold water for showering, 150 litres becomes 500 litres of shower water for nighttime usage. For hotels with unusually high nighttime usage or northern latitudes with very cold nights, an optional electrical heater element with thermostatic control, can be added to provide supplemental heating.
Note. Savings assume mounting with southern aspect, inclination equal to latitude, with no shading. Savings may be reduced by shading and sub optimal mounting angle and direction. System efficiency may reduce over time in areas with high bird population, and may require semi annual panel cleaning to restore efficiency.
This is a low pressure system and feeds hot water by gravity. The
height of the tank above the highest shower head will govern the
amount of hot water static pressure. A MINIMUM of 3 metres is
required to match the average house cold water pressure for good
mixing, but more height may be required. An optional hot water
pressure booster pump can be added if there is insufficient static
pressure.
